I came to Geneva in 2011 to take up a position at the World Council of Churches as head of the office of interreligious concerns. By background I am a lay theologian and educator, deeply committed to the Anglican tradition (I served for 6 years 2005-2011 as Director of theological education for the Anglican Communion Office). I have been associated with Holy Trinity since my arrival in Geneva. After his retirement in summer 2013 my husband Alan, an Anglican priest, has spent increasing time with me here in Geneva and France voisine. Since my own retirement from the WCC in 2018 I have taken on the honorary role of Director of Lay Discipleship in our diocese, and in that capacity hold a commission from the bishop which enables me to accept invitations to preach – in Switzerland and elsewhere – at the invitation of the relevant chaplain. Which I do! More recently I have also taken on responsibility for directing the diocesan Ministry Experience Scheme to encourage young people to spend 10 months exploring their vocation in one of the chaplaincies of the diocese.
