10.00 BIBLE STUDY with Dr Clare Amos

Christ crucified!

Why?

A Zoom study morning exploring the meanings of the Cross of Christ

Saturday 6 March

10.00am-11.10am and 11.30am-12.30pm

Zoom Study meeting, organised by

 Holy Trinity Church, Geneva

Led by Dr Clare Amos

‘Why did Jesus have to die?’  This study morning, held in the middle of Lent, as we prepare together for Passiontide, will seek to explore this fundamental question at the heart of our Christian faith. We will begin by looking at some of the answers offered in the New Testament itself, but then move into looking at some of the responses offered at different times during Christian history.

Until her retirement in 2018 Clare Amos worked at the World Council of Churches, Geneva. Clare is passionate about sharing her enthusiasm for the Bible and theology with a wide range of people. She takes seriously the powerful challenge once uttered by Archbishop Michael Ramsey, ‘To be a theologian is to be exposed to the vision of heaven and the tragedies of humanity.’ She is currently the honorary Director of Lay Discipleship for the Diocese in Europe.

To meet the needs of ‘Zoom’ security issues, and in order to ensure that you can be sent the link and handouts in advance, please let the church office know that you are planning to attend by Thursday 4 March: email    admin@holytrinitygeneva.org
