The important SAFEGUARDING TRAINING DAY planned for this Saturday 30 September has to be postponed.
An article in the Tribune de Genève was brought to our attention, outlining the security and transport arrangements for a weekend of visiting puppets which unbelievably may attract up to a million people in Geneva! Whatever other considerations this brings, it became clear that it would be very difficult for some participants to access the centre of the city on that day, and given the relatively tight timetable, the prospect of people arriving late or not at all because of circumstances well beyond their control, and after consultation with the Archdeacon (for the event was organised on an Archdeaconry basis) and the training team we have regrettably decided to postpone the training day until the Spring of 2018.
We are very sorry that we have had to take this precautionary measure and deeply regret the fact that this may disrupt your own plans for the weekend of 30 September.
The online training packages which you have completed, however, do not have an ‘expiry date’ and will continue to be valid when the training day is rearranged.
Plenty of notice will be provided for the rescheduled training day in Holy Trinity Church, and we hope that the new date will be convenient for you. Again, apologies – but we feel that we have acted as best we may in the circumstances which were not known at the time arrangements were made.
